New Alliance to Boost Recycling Performance of Small Aluminium Packaging
The European Aluminium Foil Association (EAFA), together with partner organisation Flexible Packaging Europe (FPE), is establishing a European alliance with a clear, overarching objective: to significantly enhance the recycling performance of small aluminium packaging – including coffee capsules. The alliance aims to create the conditions needed to ensure that these packaging formats can be collected, sorted and recycled at high quality and scale across Europe.

The aim is to ensure that packaging design facilitates efficient recycling at the end of the life cycle.

Aluminium foil deliveries recover in Q3 as exports grow
The third quarter of 2020 saw some welcome recovery in deliveries of aluminium foil which experienced growth of 1.7% in the period. This was caused, to a large extent, by a stronger export performance, with sales outside Europe increasing by 13.7%, according to figures just released by the European Aluminium Foil Association (EAFA). Total deliveries in the year to date now stand at 709,000 tonnes (2019: 715,000 tonnes), a slight decrease of 0.8%
